There doesn't seem to be any way to add potency or property runes to the Handwraps of the Mighty Fist in HLO, which renders them completely useless (since that is the whole point of the item). This makes HLO unusable for any unarmed attacker class (monk, Animal Totem Barbarian, etc) at medium or high levels, as this is the only way to get potency on unarmed attacks.
