DnD Beyond is the best example I have of what I find helpful.

They may use Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumbler, Reddit, etc.--but I wouldn't know. And I don't have to.

The announcements, change logs, videos, forums are all available from their Web pages. There is a change log page that is nothing but change announcements, but they also post about changes in their forums.

I like not having to hunt down news. Especially about updates and roadmap changes.

It also helps that they have good articles and videos with tutorials or about DnD in general.

Now, DnD Beyond is part of Twitch, which is an Amazon company, so they have far deeper pockets and more resources than LWD. I'm happy with just posting updates in these forums.

The bigger issue is that they just are not going to have the pace of development to support the update schedule that many posting here seem to expect.
