In general, we envisioned that users would associate a Scene or other topic with a plot point. Then that topic would identify and link to all the characters (and other elements) that wove into the plot point.
I'll add your idea to the todo list, but I think you can already accomplish what you want to a reasonable extent. It's just not wired entirely into the plot at present, which would be the next step for us to add.
