I only use the dice roller for secret rolls and NPC initiatives. Physical dice are used for all other rolls. Damage is tracked, with players seeing NPCs as thirds, allowing them to see undamaged, 67-99%, 34-66%, 1-33%, and zero. It lets them track each other without additional discussion. They love seeing the enemy going to red. Conditions show, and they know which is slowed etc.
Oh that’s neat. I wish there was a good guide on how to do that. I checked it out after your post, and I couldn’t find how to get it going. For now I’ve been using Foundry as my tracker, but this might make more sense for in person.
