Well, I tried them all and none worked. The definition file is set
up so that the unit can take the required item. And, indeed, when I
select that unit, I can go to the items icon and the item will show
up in the list and allow me to assign it to the unit.

But, using that take attribute, the item does not get automatically
assigned. I'm stumped. Is it possible that some kind of corruption
exists in the data file that prevents the attribute from working
properly?
