So hey - thread necromancy and all, but this just occurred to me: what about just making the heading levels looks distinct from one another? I don't know about everybody else, but I'd be more comfortable with the current (presumably for the foreseeable future) no-labels design if every subsection of a topic didn't have the same formatting (and big divider line) as its containing top-level section.
While there are still places where I really, REALLY want a label for a snippet, heading levels that appear distinct from one another (we've all seen these in official documents, well-designed wikis, et cetera) would allow us to better use sections as they seem to be intended, and could potentially solve some issues with removing snippet labels. Plus, we'd have a better idea of how broad/specialised each section of a topic is, and better ability to tell them apart, just at a glance.
(Better yet, let us choose our own formatting for section levels. But I won't be holding my breath, since right now even customisable text styles seem to be off the table
)
