has anybody tried this recently ?

I downloaded the latest version, and it just doesn't work.

I go to a folder that has PDF's in to inport them into my library, and it doesn't show anything ?

Does anybody have a youtube video or anything to see if I am doing something wrong ?

Cheers

Steps as follows

Be certain you have Jamz fork of Maptool (infused with Nerps) v1.4.3.20

Go to file>Add Resource to Library

Press ... and browse for the folder containing the PDF(s) that you want to convert

Add that folder

Now go to your Resource Library (Uppermost Left Window) and find your added folder

Click the + to expand and see the PDFs

Click on PDF and wait, a big PDF takes a few minutes to even get started and then 5-10 minutes to complete

Let me know how it goes

Hi,

It must be the wrong version, because nope I get nothing....

I've been to the link on his website, and downloaded it again, just to be sure.

but I get the same result.

The Maptools (infused with Nerps) website gives me a 404 error when I try to download the Windows 32 bit version when I click on latest. I can download the 64 bit Windows, Mac, and Linux version which I can't use. I'm using Windows 7 32 bit system.

Because of this thread, I just downloaded and used maptools for the very first time and followed the instructions to import my Reign of Winter PDF's and all I can say is wow! Thank you! Looks like no more roll20.net for me!

@Jay_Nola, you get a 404 because I don't provide (or link) to a 32 bit version. It's 2017 so I've made the decision to only support x64 bit OS's and Java 1.8. Supporting Windows/Mac/Linux is headache enough.

If you need to run on something that doesn't match the above, you have to go old skool and install Java for your platform and you can run these jar's manually.

@Happydevil43, I'll need more info to assist. Possibly the PDF (I assume you've tried multiple PDF's?) Are you getting a progress bar and it hangs? Or finishes with no results? What happens when you click the PDF icon/folder in "Resource Library"?

@Everyone else, glad to help! I'm currently working on a update to provide a much better "install" interface as well as a brand new TokenTool rewritten in JavaFX.

Today's hint: If you are using this for PDF with grids baked into the maps, right click on the map and select "Auto Resize" to help resize the map so it matches the MapTool grid!

Is there somewhere we can get more information as to what the NERPS version of maptools provides over the regular maptools?

@Jamz,

Not even getting that far.

1. I downloaded the file from your site
2. I run it, (looks like the normal Maptools from what I can see)
3. I add the folder that has the pdf's in it
4. Clicking on the folder, there is nothing displayed.
5. no progress bar or anything.

I'll try the .jar file you have posted and let you know as it seems to be pointing to the normal .jar file that came with maptools

SUCCESS!!!!!!

I downloaded the two jar files and stuck them in the same folder on the pc.

ran your .exe and then manually changed the .jar file to the new one (not the one that came with Maptools.

I now have PDF's

Thanks heaps guys for your help

@happydevil great to hear! Not sure what happened. Did you by chance have an earlier or dev build installed? jWrapper is very quirky (so I'm removing it in the next build). I would next suggest an uninstall/install but since you are working, you should be good to go!

@Dhrakken, You can follow the thread over at rptools. I post change logs there but what is "different" depends on which version you compare to. There is a core dev version (1.4.1.8) which has a lot of the same features of my build (I submit all my changes back to the open source project).

Here's the link: http://forums.rptools.net/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=23681

FYI: The biggest changes are PDF extraction, Hero Lab integration & ability to play Syrinscape via URI's. There's a lot of little things like new macro's and bug fixes too.

But I highly recommend you guys check out the Hero Lab integration since, you know, you are here at Lone Wolf's web site!

PS I'd love to integrate Realm Works as well if they ever add URI's like Syrinscape or an API of sorts.

Hi Jamz

I originally downloaded the "default/official" version from the maptools site and was playing around with that to replace the mapping function in RW... when I remembered this post...so I am guessing it was something to do with that.

It was only when I manually changed to the jar file you provided above that it started working.... I cannot find those Jar files anywhere else on my pc...
