Same issue here.
EDIT: Found a way around it. Just go to:
http://www.shadowsoftware.net/herola..._d20(v1.18).hl
This link should download the update file. Just run the file and when hero lab asks you to import it select yes.
(Basically all i did was go to the update link (
http://www.shadowsoftware.net/herolab/d20/updates.xml), copy the download link in it (which was the link for the 1.17 update) and change 1.17 to 1.18.)
