The CB currently has to be installed first then install the packs. So going to assume you also installed the Basic Pack? If so install it again now that the CB is installed.

Every time I add the IPad community super pack I get this nice long list of errors.

Clarification Question re "Deprecated" Packs

A: See THIS post for full details. But the new Packs are downloaded from inside of HL and all start with the wording "Pathfinder XXXXX Pack". Where XXXX is the name of the specific pack.

A: If you are still getting an Update Notice for a old deprecated community package (Ultimate Psionics, SGG, Path of War) you need to do a small step to make it stop. Start HL and Pathfinder and go to "Tools->Manage Third Party Updates" and find the old package and "delete it". The files are already converted over to the new pack so you will NOT lose anything. HL will then stop telling you about the update.

3) How do a do a simple "Fresh" install of the new community Packs?
A: To do a "fresh" install on Windows (idea is similar on Mac) is go to your "C:\ProgramData\HeroLab\data\Pathfinder" folder and rename it to "pathfinder_old". Then go to the "C:\programData\HeroLab\download\pathfinder.hl" file and run this to start a fresh install of the Pathfinder Game system. If you plan to use the Community Bestiary or Community Player Pack you must install them BEFORE you install any of the "new" packs you wish to use. You do NOT have to install the Community Bestiary or Community Player Pack if you don't plan to use them.

4) If I want the Pathfinder 3PP Pack do I need to first install the Pathfinder Basic Pack?
A: Currently no. The "Basic Pack" is now contained inside of each other Pack. So if you only download the Pathfinder 3PP Pack then Basic Pack will be installed also automatically.

5) The only error I'm still getting is "abDRCIrMag", which this post says is because of a change to Cold Iron DR a while ago.
A: This is a known-issue and will be fixed when I redo the Community Bestiary and deprecate the Community Player Pack.

6) I am getting an error that is causing HL to not load any addons. What can I try?
A: One option to try is to download the Pack again. Let it overwrite the download and install again. This "some" times works and does not take long to try. If still getting an error please RIGHT click on the error window and PASTE the error message into this thread.

7) I am getting an error how can I past it into this thread?
A: If you are getting a error window you can always RIGHT mouse click and select COPY to copy all the errors. Then you can past them into an post to help others diagnose what is wrong.

8) Error: Attempt to access field 'sPrepCount' that does not exist for thing 'puDetPsi0'
Location: 'field calculate' script for Field 'sScrCost' near line 39
A: Its a bug in the background component script and not something I can fix. I have put in an official bug report with all the information so they can duplicate it. It should be fixed in the next official release. If you are playing the character you can suppress the error by going to "Develop->Enable Data File Debugging" and turning it OFF. Then you won't see the message every-time you make a change.

So I installed the Pathfinder 3PP pack and in manage third party updates, I removed the 3 deprecated packs. Please confirm that's the way to proceed. I was getting an error about xPwrRes causing chaining problems, but that seems to have stopped. Thanks!

If no errors and you have access to the 3PP books then you are good!

Are you getting an error on Pathfinder start? If so HL has gone into safe mode. Try again and right click on the error and copy it so you can paste it here.

If that is not the issue I need more info please.

The archetype is in both the Basic Pack and the iPad super pack. Both of which can be downloaded on the iPad.

Please note the iPad Super Pack will be deprecated in the near future as it will not serve any real purpose.

My issue

Unable to update herolab(last update I did was in December and
everyhting was fine until the most recent update) the only thing I
could find online was a dragonrider something, which is a 3pp I do
have but I have had that for a long time and only this most recent
update is having issues. It wont finish the update so it always has
the blue \"!\" for an update which is always the same. The error is:
PFRPG_Sources.1st(line 4) - Source - Duplicate record encountered
(\'pSGG\')

"Support" told me to check post #3 in this forum, none of that made sense and none of those files were there, regardless can someone help me?

Can you start HL and go to "Tools->Manage Third Party Updates" and tell me what you show in the window?

It sort of appears as one "old" file is not getting removed during the update. So do that and let me know what it shows. Then I can give you better ideas on how to handle this.

Post #3 is good read as its the FAQ. FAQ#2 tells you why it keeps asking to update the Deprecated packages.

Are you getting an error message? If so please follow FAQ#7 and give me the error message.

Ok after doing searches on my drive finally lead me to a VERY old dragonrider .hl from 2011 that use to be distributed with the .pdf. It contained a .1st file named "PFRPG_Sources.1st". So the "quick" fix is to go delete this file out of your herolab\data\pathfinder game folder as its not needed anymore.

I am working on v1.1 of the 3PP Pack that will automatically deprecate this old file that will go out tonight.

The NEW 3PP Pack is now live and being pushed out to everyone. Those that had the old SGG, Ultimate Psionics, or Path of War now gets this combined pack of Third Party Products.

The data files could not be loaded due to errors. Hero Lab will now attempt to load them in recovery mode. Once loaded, you can access the editor as normal to correct any errors.

This is the from the RGG and SKR Games of the 3PP Pack. The Pathfinder 3PP Pack now requires the official licenses of "Advanced Players Guide, Ultimate Combat, and Ultimate Magic" to run. This was mentioned in THIS post.

And as mentioned once HL gets an error it loads in Safe Mode which is why your Community Player Pack (ie Way of the Wicked) will not load.

Sorry you have three choices.
1) Buy those official packages from LW.
2) Uninstall the 3PP Pack ("Tools->Manage Third Party Updates").
3) Uncouple the 3PP Pack from requiring those official packages. You could find the files using the official Things (the ID is given above in the errors) and delete the Things or Files using them.

So your getting this "after" you open your character correct? You must have had the "Community Bestiary" or "Community Player Pack" installed before. Going to assume the Community Player Pack as the CB would not have run with out those other official packages.

So go to "Find Updates" and download and install "d20pfsrd:Community Player Pack (v2.24)". That will get your Way of the Wicked back.

But did you uninstall or reinstall lately? I am not seeing why the Player Pack would have gone away. It made sense at first as soon as you get an error HL went into safe mode and would not have loaded the CPP.
