Should Bone Lacing Add Boxes to the Physical Damage Grid?

So I'm a new player to Shadowrun in SR5, so perhaps I am just misunderstanding how the mechaincs of this work in SHadowrun, but when I add Aluminum Bone Lacing (a Rating of 2) it adds +2 to my armor...
