Is player edition only available on PC?

I couldn't find a clear answer anywhere. Is PC the only place the player edition is available? If so, what's the news on wider availability?

I've looked and looked and I can't find any update on stretch goal content, how to get it, or if it even still exists.

Update: When attempting to save or delete the planet it gave me a similar error. When I reloaded realmworks it was not listed under places, so I believe it wasn't saved.

I used VMware, but it seemed to bog down OSX. Does Parallels work better? As well, do I have to click in to windows every time? VMware had some annoying issues when I was using dual monitors as well.
