More simply the rules have been done to not field huge pieces like greater dragons and demons in smallest armies.

Shield of Ptolos still calculates wrong armor save in character profile. It is a normal shield with special fixed armor save, ex. 4+ (*1+). I guess it is easier than what it seems to be set right.

Khoril is definetely 3 (4) as for the rules of magic paired weapons, it means he has +1 attack for sure. There is no official letteral faq about but there is the one that Chayal is a magical paired...

Version 1.3 does work well for me with windows 7. I think it's a problem with your pc. I had similar problems with latest release of open office 3.2.
