Multiple creature types

As I begin to input creatures from the Adventures in Middle Earth sourcebooks I've found that many of them have types such as "Large Giant (Troll-Kind)" or "Medium Human (Dunedain)."

I notice that the Size Domain allows you to have multiple tags within it. Not sure why you'd ever have a creature that is both small & large - but who knows. In any case I was hoping that the Type domain would do allow you to do the same multiple tag-thing so I could enter both Giant & Troll-Kind. However, that is not the case.

In the Manage Category area for Creature area I found the section that shows the Tag Configuration selection that Allows(s) Multiple Tags. However even after removing protection it seems that the Tag Configuration choice is still protected.

So, after all of that I find that there is a "Creature Tags" domain that kind of does the same thing as "Type" so in the long run I could do:
Size: Large
Type: Giant
Creature Tags: Troll-kind

...however I'd be interested learning about how to change or allow domains to have multiple tags; as well as anyone insight into the apparent redundancy of Type vs Creature Tags.

Thanks!

Creature tags is multi select in my D&D realms.

If they are named individuals they go in the Story / World.

If they are templates used to stat out named individuals they go in Mechanics.

Same here...its the "Type" that surprised me being single. I suppose I'll probably use both but I would think that:

Creature Tag: Giant, Troll-kind
would be more efficient than

Type: Giant
Creature Tag: Troll-kind

Any reason you can think of to not just use Create Tag by itself?

I suppose I will do that...then setup a Individual entry that links to the mechanic area for the template.

Okay I figured out a way to do this that feels right to me:
1. Add Snippet Below > Tags
2. This inserts a labeled text style short box that I can call "Type" followed by a multi-domain box tag box when I can choose both Giant & Troll-kind "Creature Type" tags.

It results in this:

Sorry I misunderstood.

Here's how you fix that. Create a copy of Creature

Manage->Categories->Creature

Click the hammer and wrench icon (or press f7)->Create duplicate of category.
Select Creature copy (should be immediately under Creature)

Select the type snippet, and check the box "allow multiple tags"

Change the name of Creature Copy to something like My Creatures and save. Use that category from now on. You won't have to add a snippet every time you add a creature.

Thanks kbs - its no sweat.

What are the ramifications of having entries under both "Creatures" & "My Creatures?" I feel like my OCD might kick in and pressure me to move all of the ones I've already entered from the former to the latter, but maybe its not a big deal?

They'll show up in two lists if you're showing the Categories in the Navigation Pane, and you'll have two choices when making new items.

When I make my own version of an existing Category, I move everything to the new one using the Options (F7) menu on the old Category in the Category editor, then uncheck Shown on the old Category. Then there's nothing to worry about.

Oh! I'll have to check this out when I get back to the PC. I discovered I could do it on an individual entry basis - but the above sounds much more convenient, thanks!
