Brand new user.
 
First of all, I'm new to Hero Lab and I'm still learning the basics. So far I'm enjoying the software and it feels easy to use. I looked for a feature question thread but didn't see it. So I'm asking here.
I've tried searching on here and as far as I can tell I'm up to date on the community file but I don't see a couple of things. Maybe they're not implemented, so I thought I'd ask.
1. Wolf Totem Barbarian. I see ape and bear but can't for the life of me find wolf. Spirit totem I see but not the other one.
2. Shifter feats. I see a few but only about half.
3. Other barbarian variants such as trapkiller, devil's luck, etc. I see spell sense but no trapkiller.

Since I see some of these but not the ones I'm looking for, I feel like it's something I'm doing wrong but I don't know what.

Any and all help is appreciated

Hi NOMster. Welcome to Hero Lab. So, the community set isn't complete. We are still working to add things. If you can't find something odds are it hasn't been done yet. I'm happy to add things to the to-do list, and I also take contributions if you are interested in trying to add things yourself.

Since I can't keep track of everything, if you want to make any requests for things you don't see please include a sourcebook so I know where to look for it. Thanks for checking out HL and the community set!

Wolf totem is in the community files. You might have to check to see if the source is active. Not sure about the Shifter feats but I know I got all the ones from ECS in there

Thanks for getting back to me. I can look around and see if I can work with it as far as adding something, but I doubt if I'll be much help in that regard. full time+ along with 2 teens makes sitting down to focus a pipe dream. anyway, here's the things i would be looking for with sources. bolded are my highest interest

Wolf Totem- Unearthed Arcana p48
Trapkiller -Dungeonscape p8
Devils luck and Dashing Step -Dragon magazine vol 349
Shifter feats -Races of Eberron p113 (shifter savagery especially)
Streetfighter -Here this one is especially tasty as I'm about to hit 7th.

I looked again and UA is checked in sources but the only Totems appearing are ape and bear. All the spirit totems and totem manifestation from CC that replace fast movement show up, but not the base class variant replacement from UA that replaces uncanny dodge, trapsense (some case), and IUD.

I think I got most of this worked out now. One thing though. I've selected shifter/razorclaw but when I choose great rend it gives me an error that I need to be razorclaw to qualify. Also, the extra shifter trait tells me there's no choice to make even with 2 other shifter feats.

Looks like a couple of bugs. I'll add these to the bug list.

no worries, i went into the adjustment tab and manually added the permanent adjustments and it took it.

Also, i just want to say, I've tried every other character builder/sheet out there and this is by far the easiest to work with, customize, and use. adding custom weapons/feats/variants...it's all gravy.

Glad you found a workaround. I discovered that all of the feats that look for Shifter traits weren't working. I have resolved this issue. I'll look into the Extra Shifter Trait next. Thanks for the reports!

awesome. is anyone working on any sorcerer variants? i was trying to add drakken familiar but I'm not having any luck.

There is a flaw with my workaround that i just noticed. it basically adds the bonuses from the shifter traits all the time instead of only when the box is ticked under "in play". I tried the newest update and tried to remove the adjustments, but it still acts the same as before with not giving me an extra shifter triat option and not recognizing that i have razorclaw chosen when i try to take "Great Rend".

i haven't released the fix yet. Try the attached file. Pretty sure it will compile with the current version of the community set.

Doesn't seem any different, but you've done a lot and this is a real specific thing so I'm not worried about it. I can make most of it work enough to use.

Oh also, on the custom variants I made, do I need to send those to you? I kind of put them all on one file so some may be redundant, but i can clean those out and send you one that only has what (at least as far as i know) is working.

Are you sure? It should be working properly now. I want it to be an actual fix not something that's good enough. Maybe you can post your portfolio and I can take a look.

I can. Maybe I did it wrong. I just replaced the eberron file in my d20 folder.

okay, i tried again to replace the file and now Great Rend seems to identify that I have Razorclaw but still not Beasthide. here is the file. I also noticed that Claw and Bite are not adding BAB to attack bonus. only giving the STR as attack bonuses.

Again, this may be my own mistake since I'm still learning this system but thanks for any help.

Ah. I hadn't updated the Extra Shifter Trait. My fault. Here's the updated file. Remember that when you replace the old file you need to reload HL.

Yep, that got it as far as the error. Although It's still not adding +4 to AC when i click shifting on in play and i also just noticed that Reckless Rage isn't working. when i click the in play "enraged" it's only going up the normal +4 on STR and CON. sorry if i'm being a pain. i was so worried about the other stuff, i didn't even realize that.

Has no one mentioned that yet? Sendric, Reckless Rage (Races of Stone) is still checking for cBrbRage instead of xRage.

NOMster, this one is easy enough that I fix it in mine and keep forgetting to mention it in the forum. :D

Just swap your file out with this one.

Fixed the AC problem.

Please continue to report issues. If I don't know about them, I can't fix them. :)

spoke too soon. the number of rounds/day to rage doesn't adjust when the con modifier goes up. it still bases it off your "normal" con mod, but it should be whatever the current con mod is. (its easy to know, but just pointing it out)

okay, so I'm having this issue with one of the characters. on my home PC it's fine but on my laptop I'm getting several errors. I can attach the character but I'm not sure if it will help since it's perfectly fine on my Home computer. I tried copying the d20 file from the PC to the laptop but that didn't work either.
if i remove his familar, the second error will go away but the first one stays unless i remove the dragonblood sorcerer level. Again, i have zero issues with the exact same character on my PC. (I save the characters in my dropbox folder so any changes i make are always updated everywhere.

It's most likely that you haven't copied ALL the user files from your PC to the laptop, or you didn't copy them to the correct folder.
In particular, whatever file has the race "rdrakraven".

That could be right, although rdrakraven must be there or it wouldn't load at all. This looks more like a scripting error so maybe the file containing this thing was updated at some point?

Since rdrakraven isn't from the community set we wouldn't be able to diagnose the problem even if you did upload your portfolio file. We'd need both it and the .user file containing this race.

I finally was able to fix all this and everything is working great. I do have a question though. in the editor, where are lesser abilities for intelligent weapons? i want to customize a weapons ability and i can't seem to find that anywhere.

Looks like they are hidden and cannot be edited through the editor. It might be possible to do it by hand, but you'd need to know how those things are formatted. Unfortunately, I don't have access to the source code so I can't really help you out with this particular issue.
