Mouse

I am having something weird happening.

I am entering in a new monster and adding in new Racial Specials for it.

The creature is working fine with no problems. Now here is the weird part, after every new Racial Special I have adding is the word (Mouse).

I have tried to find out where it is coming from with no luck.

Thought I would post it here before submitting it as a bug.

Have you bootstrapped those Racial Specials or created them yourself? It sounds like the original source is a mouse.

Angela2013 November 19th, 2019 03:17 PM

Created them myself.

Angela2013 November 25th, 2019 03:09 PM

All of the Racial Specials were created as original abilities and given no source.

Can you post your .user file?

Here is the user file. When I create a creature it goes into an alphabetized file (26 total) so it makes it easier to find to troubleshoot. Filth Croc is the only one in the Bestiary F file.

Angela2013, that's a character portfolio, based on the .por extension - just the saved character, not the .user file that contains what you've created in the editor. So Duggan won't be able to look at what you created based on that alone.

Oops, sorry sent the wrong one. The filth croc is in the Legacy file (a big one). Use this file for any thing from earlier than Pathfinder. A lot of items before I started put them into smaller files.

While tried to upload file but it was too big. If there is another way I am all ears.

You can ZIP it up, or you could open it with a text editor and just post the relevant entry (which might be missing context, but might also have a smoking gun).

Here is the zipped file. I must have been under holiday pressure if I didn't think of this.

OK, I'm coming up blank. That user file fails when I try to load it, something about AdjSkills not being set.

My expertise is in other systems, so I'll leave it to others.

Those are just Concentration skills (like the ones set for cleric, wizard, etc.) that were set for new classes. They were just copied over from existing Concentration skills and edited to match each new class.

Took some work on the file you posted to get it to load but I was finally successful. Unfortunately I don't see the word "Mouse" anywhere for the Filth Croc. I even loaded your .por file and still don't see Mouse anywhere.

Can you post a pic or provide some details on where to look for the wording?

TobyFox2002 December 1st, 2019 03:09 PM

Wouldn't examining the Timings and Task report under the debug info windows allow you to search for the word "Mouse"? If so, I'd imagine that would narrow down the potential source for this strange name issue.

Ok, this is getting strange. After being away from the computer for 3 days things have changed. Now when I open filth croc the mouse label has vanished. It has been replaced with (Filth Croc). I don't know what is going on but now the label is right.

Thanks for trying to find out was going on.
