So I've been becoming more and more familiar with hero lab over the last couple years and have been wanting to tackle adding Magic World to my systems using Call of Cthulhu as the base. They're pretty similar games and I see a BRP tab on the CoC configuration but since this is a core system...I'm thinking I can't really copy and edit it....is that correct?

You can't directly copy it. You can build on top of it, if there aren't any fundamental changes that you will need to make in the core of the game files.

*SIGH* yeah there are a LOT of changes I would need to make so this does me no good...
I'm not good enough to make my own system just yet.
