Dweomer Cap - Familiar from d20pfsrd
Has someone already built the "Dweomer Cap" familiar?
I have the community pack installed but it seems not to be part of it. http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/mon...s/dweomer-cap/ |
Do you have the Ultimate Wilderness book?
|
It is available in Ultimate Wilderness, I just checked, so I guess you need that source

I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong, this would be under "Other" - "Mounts & Hirelings" ?

No, it would be under the familiar tab for those classes that allow plant based familiars.

Attachment 5746 Then once created you can switch to the "Familiar" and you select the "race" Dweomer Cap on the "Minion" tab. |
Ok, I didn't see that button as a Oracle (Spirit Guide) when I hit lvl 3. Am I understanding that mechanic incorrectly?
At 3rd level, a spirit guide can form a temporary bond with a spirit, as the shaman’s wandering spirit class feature. http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base.../spirit-guide/ Spirit Animal: This ability uses the same rules as the wizard’s arcane bond class feature and is treated as a familiar, except as noted below. http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/hybr...ing-Spirit-Su- List of Wizard Familiars: https://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/cor...zard/familiar/ |

If you have Cha 13, you can take Skill Focus in a Knowledge skill (any will do, but I think Knowledge [arcana] or Knowledge [local] are the most used in APs), then the Eldritch Heritage feat, taking the Arcane bloodline, and pick a familiar for your arcane bond ability. This also opens you up to Improved/Greater Eldritch Heritage later, which with arcane bond give things universally useful for spellcasters. You can take Iron Will, Familiar Bond, and Improved Familiar Bond. The two familiar feats are worse than the Skill Focus + Eldritch Heritage (arcane) trick, but don't have a Charisma requirement. You can use the variant multiclassing rules (from Pathfinder Unchained) to trade about half your feats for benefits chosen from a different class. For a familiar, sorcerer is the best VMC choice, since you can pick the arcane bloodline and get most of its benefits with no Charisma requirement. Note that sorcerer VMC is actually very similar in end result to taking the Eldritch Heritage feats, except you're trading more feats for more benefits. (If you're willing to live with almost no feats at all, you can arrange other gimmicks like taking Eldritch Heritage plus VMC into a different class to double-dip on not-technically-multiclassing abilities.) You can take levels in Fighter with the Eldritch Guardian archetype. I wouldn't recommend it for an oracle, though, since barring some specific build gimmicks you would have been looking for in advance, it would only really dilute your power level by splitting your focus. Some single-class fighters can do interesting things with this, familiar archetypes, and teamwork feats, though. |
