This is a known issue with HLC64 and the PDF plugin. If you can't get things working here's two options:
1. Send an email to support and they'll help you work it out,
2. Try copying the four files from your PDFcanvas directory to your herolab directory that have a name starting with "pdf" (pdfcanvas64.dll/lib, pdflib64.dll/lib).

Thank you!!! This worked perfectly!:):):)

I'm having the same issue, trying to export character portfolios as pdf. I've tried the workaround and keep getting the same error. I'm going to attempt reinstalling and see if that makes any change.

There's a work around.

1. Install Foxit PDF reader. It's free

2. Instead of trying to save the file as a pdf click on the print button.

3. Choose "Foxit Reader PDF Printer" as the printer. Despite the "printer" name it'll allow you to save the file to your computer as a pdf.

I also have Adobe pdf reader installed, but it doesn't show up in Herolab as a "printing" option.

Depending on your OS version there may be PDF printing built in; I usually just use Win10's Microsoft Print to PDF, but PDF24 is good too.
