Wood Elf Warhawk Riders
Just noticed that Warhawk Riders have a US of 1, and not 2 as flying cavalry should be (like Pegasus Knights).
By the way, hi everyone, and great work on these data files! ;) |
Actually all flying units are automatically US 1 unless they are also a monstrous mount...Pegasus Knights specifically state they are an exception to this rule...
|
According to p18 of the codex, Warhawk riders should be US 2.
|
See? An exception! ;)
I don't have the codex in question so I didn't know they added to the exceptions...I'm just going based on the core rules... |
I think the problem is that flying cavalry is a group of rules not thought of when the core rules were written... Though I can't think of any examples of flying cavalry beyond pegasus knights and warhawk riders, I'm sure they follow the bolt-on rules as well ;)

hmmm
according to 2004 chronicles "Units of Flyers: Always count as skirmishers and have a Unit Strength of 1 per model, regardless of size, wounds, etc." which is right!! |
robert, that is the general rule which is overridden by the Wood Elf army book which apparently specifically mentions Warhawk Riders being US2.
BTW, they're Army Books in this game, not Codeces. |
Quote:
Robert, both Pegasus Knights and Warhawk Riders have a special rule called "flying cavalry". This rule (printed in both army books) states that these units follow all the normal rules for flyers except for the following. US 2 +1 AS due to being mounted can be affected by spells which affect cavalry. |
