Question about 4.0 content.

Hi there, my friends and I use d20pro and are excited about the exporting feature from herolabs that has been implemented recently. As we have all but migrated to D20pro. At least I am considering buying herolabs.

In addition one of my friends and I are considering setting up a 4.0 campaign. But have a question on the content herolabs provides and the acquisition/use of subscriber content from WOTC. If we are subscribed for a month. For discussion sake, if we unsubscribe can we still use the content in herolabs we had access to while subscribed?

We are very interested in purchasing herolabs and subbing to DDI, but are concerned that our game might end up stopping if someone can't subscribe for a month.

Hope this is clear. Thank you.

Once you've downloaded the files you're set.

Until WOTC massively erratas something, or a significant enough update to HL would necessitate another download. Though not technically legit, you only need 1 DDI subscription though, you could copy the files from the pc that downloads them to the others, or share the login. It's not exactly ethical, but HL doesn't know the difference.

Thanks, that's kind of what I figured after looking over some older posts. A couple of my guys like the auto calc stuff, and it makes animal companions easier to calculate (they always confuse me when I level my druid *Grin*).

My dad especially, enjoys some auto calc stuff so having everything at his fingertips in HL will make him happy. He uses pcgen, which seems to have a larger learning curve than this, especially if adding an older leveled character...And PCgen can't export to d20 friendly xml file.

So there we go, thanks for the info.
