Bitbucket/GitHub to version-control and share rule sets

I've been using Bitbucket lately to version control a couple of AK projects. Is it okay to publicly share that repository? If not, is it okay to keep the repository private and share it selectively with other AK users?

Thanks!

I would say that if the ruleset is publicly available then it could be freely shared in a public repository.

For commercial rules, I would use a private repository and only share it privately. I don't think LW want to get involved in any legal issues that may arise.

My specific concern is actually with copyright on the AK template files.

Kairos, let me share some of the possible implications involved in sharing your work.

If you share it publicly and it includes copyrighted or trademarked data, then the owner of the copyrighted/trademarked data would be within their right to have it taken down.

However, you can't copyright game mechanics. Therefore, depending on what the content is, it may or may not be "okay" to share.

Hopefully this information helps.

For sharing, there is a user contact mechanism built into HL. you just set it up and it will inform you when updates are available from the source. And the source could just be a private website.

Thanks for the reply, Liz. I was mostly concerned with Lone Wolf's copyright of their authoring kit code and whether Lone Wolf minded if I shared authoring kit code in this manner.
