map-to-map navigation

When you have maps in RW, they show by default as thumbnails in your topic. You click the thumbnail, it brings up a full size map. You click a pin (let's say a city), and it brings up the city topic, with the city map as a thumbnail. You click on the city thumbnail and bring it up. Then you click on the pin for the inn, and bring up the topic.

For me, I think it would be amazingly useful to be able to navigate not to the text topic, but directly to a map, to bring it up full size without having to go through the topic thumbnail. This way I could go from the continent, to the geographic area, to the country, to the city, then to the inn. Perhaps as a right-click menu choice on the pin to "navigate to map"?

It's a bit of a different navigation method, but I think it would be very useful for the more visually-oriented (and those of us with a lot of CC3 maps or a series of scanned campaign world maps).

+1 Map-to-map Navigation

I really like the idea of a right-click "navigate to map" where the option would be grayed out if there was no map in place in the topic of the pin.

+1 very useful

Your description is very much along the lines of creating containers like we are already doing so I think the mental leap is doable as it has internal consistency with the current program's presentation.

Continent <-- Region <-- Locale <-- Town <-- Building

This is a capability that's already mapped out (hah! pun intended) for how it would work. However, it's on the list with everything else, so having a separate thread here to help us prioritize it is great!
