Instalation problems

I'm trying to install AB onto my new PC, I have made a new licence, when I install and update it works but when i restart the program crash's.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling 4 times and its becoming frustrating, I've tried running the program from the start menu, any idea's?

I'm not sure what's going on that would cause AB to crash for you like that. There *IS* a problem that has only affected a handful of users and that you could have run into. Unfortunately, it's a problem that we still haven't figured out, largely because we can't reproduce it here. The work around that has bypassed the problem for a few of those with the problem is as follows:

1. Go to the Start menu, then to Programs, then to the Army Builder EX folder.
2. Right-click on the shortcut that launches AB.
3. Select "Create Shortcut". This creates a second shortcut that will launch AB.
4. Right-click on the newly created shortcut and select Properties.
5. In the field labeled "Target", you should see the full path to the AB executable. Go to this field and append the following at the end of it: " -disableupdates". Case *IS* important and there MUST be a space between the launch executable name and the new text you add.
6. Click on the OK button to save your change.
7. Use the new shortcut to launch AB.

Please let me know if this temporarily fixes the problem. If not, I'll scratch my head and see if I can think of something else to try.

Thanks, Rob
