Did Herolab update delete my character profiles?

I just updated Herolab to the latest version on my iPad and my character portfolios that were downloaded to my iPad are no longer visible. They were being synced with Dropbox and apparently stopped syncing sometime last week. That was not a big surprise, but I expected that I would be able to export the portfolios that were stored on my iPad.

Is there a way to recover them from my iPad?

If not, maybe a warning would have been in order before the latest update. This behavior was unexpected since updating Herolab has never deleted my files in the past.

Don't worry, your portfolios are still there! Unfortunately this change is due to Dropbox removing support for the library we used to talk to their servers. :( You can find out more here:

Thanks, but the portfolios in my dropbox folder haven't been updated in days. The portfolio on my iPad was updated last night while I was playing. I updated Herolab after my session last night and that portfolio from my iPad is apparently gone.

What I'm asking is if that portfolio I was updating on my iPad last night was erased from my iPad during the Herolab update. That seems to be the case.

Did you delete Hero Lab from your iPad before downloading the update? Deleting an app removes everything the app has in its storage, including saved characters. That's the only way portfolios on the iPad could be erased, other than if you deleted them yourself - the update doesn't do that.

Nope. I didn't delete anything.

It's a good thing Dropbox has revision history as long as you updated the file recently(30 days with standard account)

Sure. That’s a great feature, but has nothing to do with what I posted. :)
