Creating a new Template

Is there a way to create a new Template in WoD? Yes, I understand WoD isn't supported by Lone Wolf any more, but I'd like to be able to create my own Templates to fill in the species they didn't do (Werewolf, Geist, etc.).

Any suggestions/recommendations?

...nevermind. Just read the thread about how creating new Templates isn't really feasible without further development from Lone Wolf, which doesn't look to be happening, unfortunately.

Anyone have any recommendations on another software package that might work with the "new" World of Darkness? I really love Hero Lab's functionality, but I'm hitting a wall with the lack of support from Lone Wolf on this one :(

You could try to build the new World of Darkness system with the Authoring kit.

I thought Rob had said previously that it wasn't actually possible to build the WoD system from scratch in the Authoring Kit because the WoD templates do a few things that are custom and not supported by the Authoring Kit. I know I specifically was looking to do that when the Authoring Kit first was released but remember getting a heads up that it wasn't entirely possible.

I could be wrong though, and I would be glad to be!

You could rebuild everything from scratch in the Authoring Kit. What you can't do is add new WoD templates to the existing files without us first exposing all the source files. Core mechanisms need to be modified to add new templates, and those core mechanisms aren't currently accessible. We're exploring an option that might allow that to happen, but it's a big unknown at this point.
