I'd love to see a command line switch, or a default setting as suggested earlier in thread, to automatically load a game system immediately after launching Hero Lab.

This is already available. For the instructions, in the Help menu within Hero Lab, choose "Hero Lab Manual", and then on that page, choose "Miscellaneous Details" at the bottom, and then the second item on that page is "Automatically Loading Files".
