Can't save older portfolio file

I have the community created portfolios for the encounters in the Kingmaker AP. We just got to the last volume, and I went in to the files to make adjustments for my six person party, but all of the portfolios now refuse to save once I've made changes. There is a link that seems like it is supposed to take me to tech support, but it just opens up the website for HeroLab Online.

I figure it is because the files were created on such an old version of the program - I'm really hoping there is a way to update them because I really don't want to have to rebuild all of these portfolios.

What sort of an error message do you get upon trying to save?

Do you get any other error messages when loading the portfolio, things like elements not being found, or being orphaned?

And is the portfolio file openable as a ZIP file?

No error message per se - just a dialog box that says "This file cannot be saved" with a hyperlink that looks like it should take me to the support page, but which took me to the sales pitch page for HeroLab Online

Yes - I've been using these portfolios for quite a while throughout this campaign (over several years), and there has been the missing/orphaned elements error for some time. However, in the past all it has taken has been dirtying the file and re-saving. After that they have opened without errors.

Yes. They open as ZIP files without issue.

I realized it might help to attach a couple of sample files to see if others have the same issues.

If they're portfolios of many monsters, it may be the size.

Option 1 - make sure you're using the 64-bit beta - that should be better at handling large files.

Option 2 - export half the monsters to a new portfolio, see if that saves, and if so, you can delete that half from the original, and then that should save, too.

These aren't particularly large - one of the samples I uploaded has only two entries.

I already tried exporting out to a new portfolio - that wouldn't save either.

I downloaded both files, opened each, added a space to a name, so that something had changed, and saved them - I didn't have any issues.

Then it would seem it is a problem with my installation of HeroLab. When I get home tonight I'll reinstall and see if that solves the problem. Or perhaps I'll just install the 64-bit beta and see if that does it.

Glad to know it's not something fundamental with the files.

Ditto... I opened the Hunters one (13 enemies is not too many creatures either) and could re-save without problem.

Do you have a paid license? The trial version will not allow saving or printing of the portfolio. That's about the only other thing I could think of.

I do have a paid license. The hand full of times when I had a license problem I got a message expressly saying that I was in Demo mode and couldn't save - this is a different dialog.

The whole thing is pretty weird...
