Is linking data within the realm possible?

Hi there,

Is it possible to link data between entries that updates between each other (like linking data between Excel worksheets)?

Let's say I have an item entry for Awesome Sword, Damage: 5, Range: Close.

Could I make a table in an entirely different entry and pull the same "Awesome Sword" and drop it's damage of "5" and range of "close" in to the correct table columns? Then later if I change either of the "5" entries it updates the other entry as well?

I understand the ease of linking pages, but I don't know of a way to link actual data?

Thanks,
Tom

No it does not do this.

You could achieve this with Obsidian.md though using the Date View plugin

Yes, it is possible to link data between entries in a way that updates between each other, similar to linking data between Excel worksheets. In Notion, you can achieve this by using a feature called "Linked Databases."

To accomplish what you described, you can create a database entry for "Awesome Sword" with fields such as Damage and Range. Then, in a separate entry or table, you can link to the "Awesome Sword" entry and display the corresponding data (damage and range) in the respective columns.

If you later update the values of damage or range in the "Awesome Sword" entry, the linked entry or table will automatically reflect the changes, ensuring consistency throughout your content.

Notion's linked databases offer a powerful way to connect and synchronize data across different entries, providing flexibility and efficiency in managing your information.
