Applying PFS Boons

Is there any way to account for boons from chronicle sheets? Some of them allow for races or class archetypes that are not normally legal. I'm trying to build a Thassalonian Specialist wizard and I'm tired of the program telling me that it's a violation because they aren't PFS legal, since I have the boon from Waking Rune.

I know there is an official response about this somewhere on the forums but I do not know which thread it was in, so perhaps someone else can link to it.

It's one of the many complaints/comments/suggestions that has been given about the Hero Lab software. People have asked for an optional toggle to make it so that you can disable that message but Hero Lab has yet to do so, nor do I think they are planning on implementing it.

The reasoning as far as I know seems to be that they want the GMs to be able to know if you are cheating/playing an illegal chracter. I don't really understand that line of logic though since if you have the boon you are allowed to play it.

Maybe someone else can elaborate.

I believe that's exactly it, so the GM knows your not playing something that is straight up legal and knows to check your boon/chronicle sheets.

The FAQ has a link to THIS post about LW stance.

Last time a heated debated has started about this subject and personally I understand both sides.

That being said Risner has created a way around this with the addition of PFS boons that will be added to the CB/CPP next release. The idea is you will be able to add a special Thing which I can't remember now. It starts with the letter "V". Sigh drawing a blank on the name of what you add... :(

Anyways once added it will validate your PFS boon. As another option I added a Equipment and Race PFS Adjustment in the Pathfinder Pack. Turn on "ShadowChemosh's Adjustments" after installing. On the to-do list is one for Archetypes.

Not saying LW is right or others are right but we have plans to allow for gamers to make their own decision.

Once the release is out, I'll start work on the Season 3, 4, and 5 boons. I hope to have them all done by GenCon and I'll be able to work on the Con boons on a case by case deal.

Anyone know why the PFS Boons plugin suddenly stopped working? I Pm'd the author but he hasn't replied.

Likely something changed in the code.

I'm not sure who authored the one you are using.

The next CB release should have the one I contributed. At least up to season 3. Once it is out, I'll be working on Season 4-5 and Con Boons.

Just so everyone is on the same page v2.23 will have the addon included. Which I am shooting for this weekend... :)

@Risner You may wish to take a look at the v2.22 release notes as I have the CB up on GitHub and it would likely be helpful to have you setup as a contributor. This way we can more easily track and merge multiple branches together of the source code...

It's a web address to AndrewD2.com

I had started working on them a long time ago and then someone from the community took them over so anything that's on my server is woefully out of date. I don't think I've done anything with them in over a year.
