Error

I'm getting an error and I don't know how to find the file that's causing the problem. I am certain it's one of the files I created.

The data files could not be loaded due to errors. Hero Lab will now attempt to load them in recovery mode. Once loaded, you can access the editor as normal to correct any errors.

The following errors occurred:

Syntax error in 'pre-requisite rule' script for Thing 'fRGGDelCor' on line 1
-> Tag 'HasAbility.cdDthRepos' not defined
I use RGG for the Rogue Genius Games files I create. I just don't know how to figure out which one is causing the problem. I haven't added anything new for quite some time.

I deleted all of the RGG files I have, but the error keeps popping up.

Use a text search tool to search for the thing id "fRGGDelCor". That will point you to the file and Thing with the issue at least.

Maybe domains no longer generate HasAbility.? identity tags anymore?

Where am I searching though?

TobyFox2002 June 5th, 2016 11:17 AM

Well the 'cdDthDeath' refers to the Repose domain from 'COM_3PPPack_RGG - Class, Death Mage.user' it is also used in RGG - Races of Wing and Horn.

And I have no idea what 'fRGGDelCor' is from.

As a side note, you can search for any string or regular expression in ANY text based file within a specified area of your computer with a GREP program.

I use Global Search and Replace its a free file you can get from CNET.

Search in the folder that contains the .user files. On windows by default this is located "c:\programData\HeroLab\Data\Pathfinder". If you installed somewhere else you can always find the "data" folder containing the user files by going to the Tools menu within Hero Lab and choosing Explore Folders->Program Data Folder.

So I would have to search each file separately if I wasn't sure? Do I just open the files as text files or am I looking for something else?

blzbob June 5th, 2016 07:16 PM

Thanks to both of you for helping me.

The tool that TobyFox pointed you too would open each file and search automatically inside of them. All you do is point to the folder to search in and the tool does the rest. Personally I use TextPad which is also great for editing any type of text file including .user files.

I have spent the last couple of weeks trying to fix this and I am at a complete loss. I can't find the culprit. I have deleted every file that I created just so I don't miss anything. Doing a fresh install hasn't worked either. I don't know what to do.
