Article to Catagory format

Is there an easy way to take an already formatted article (with modified sections and such) and turn it into a Category type? In other words a way to take a formatted article and make it a template for future like articles. I understand you can copy/duplicate, but I am looking for a clean template rather than having to re-delete everytime.

No there isn't, but it sounds like a good candidate for adding in the Feature Requests forum.
