New Class Done....Now What?

I bought hero lab a while ago and wrote a prestige class (Radiant Servant). Its not totally done however I did this on another PC (My Laptop). I grabbed the .user file and moved it to my desktop becuase I wanted some more screen space to work with. When I open my portfolio that has a character with this prestige class errors saying it cannot find any of the stuff I had written with the .user file. I have the user file in the C:\HeroLab\data\d20 file what do I need to do to get that file to load into hero lab? Do I really need to go into the editor and for each item hit the "Test Now!" button? Or is there some other bootstrapping that I need to do?

Have you tried opening up the file in the editer and compiling it? I think it's an option in one of the menus.

The simplest way to do it is to move the class into the HeroLab/data/d20 folder before opening Hero Lab - then the loading compile will include that file, too.

Selecting "Quick Reload Data Files" from the Develop menu should do the trick, otherwise select "Switch Game System" in the file menu, and select the d20 files there.

Ok so the jist of it is that just having the user file in the appropriate data folder before loading hero lab should load the file so it can be used?

Does that not work?

It worked I just wanted to make sure I understood it right. for when I redo tis again on my laptop and dont have Al Gore's interweb of computers to help me out.

Exactly. You need to put your data files in the folder for the appropriate game system before Hero Lab will recognize them - otherwise it doesn't know where on your computer to look for them.
