ABCreator--displaying stats limitation?

I've got 22 stats (b/c of a stat set) in a file I'm creating. In AB
Creator, I only see the first 20 stats on the "Units" tab. Is there
some way to fix this?

In a word: No.
It's a documented (see readkit.txt) limitation of ABCreate. If you
need to set the stats past 20, you have to edit the text version of
the files and use abdata to recreate the runtime versions - OR -
create a hidden option with relevant base: or stat: attributes to set
the various stats that you can't see in ABCreate.

The other option (assuming some of the stats are "temporary" and are
not actually "set" at design time) is to move all of the temporary
stats to the end of the list so you CAN see the stats you need to set
in ABCreate - Note that this can get quite messy if you have already
entered a lot of data.

Cheers,
Russell.

ABCreator--displaying stats limitation?

Russell summed it up better than I could have. :-)

I always do two things when creating data files. First, I put all the stats
that I need to initialize to non-zero values within the first 20 stats so
that they are accessible in ABCreator. Stats that are calculated or default
to zero until modified by the user are perfect candidates for putting AFTER
the first block of 20. This is even easier with stats used in stat-sets,
since the display sequence is irrelevant (i.e. the stat-set dictates the
display sequence, so the stats can be in any order).

Second, I always leave a few unused stats distributed among those I'm using
and a handful more at the end. The reason for the second is that I *ALWAYS*
discover that I need at least a couple new stats for various purposes
during data file development. If there are unused (hidden) stats available,
it's easy to use them for intermediate calculations or whatever I happen to
need. :-)

I recommend also leaving a few unused option categories, composition
groups, unit categories, and tweak categories. I usually find I need a
couple extra of at least one of these during data file development.

Hope this helps,
Rob
