Hello!

I am making Data Filed for Army Builder. Following are the rules for factions. I have difficulties to translate these rules to the Composition Rules for Army Builder. Any help is welcome!

Thanks,

Dieter

Factions
There are eight different factions in DISKWARS: Elves, Uthuk
Yllan, Dwarves, Undead, Knights, Accolytes, Dragonkin and
Orcs. (New factions may be introduced in future expansions of
DISKWARS). Each Creature Disk has its faction written on the Disk.
Some creatures have no factions. When creating an Army you must
base the Army around a specific faction. At least 50% of your total
Army points (less points for Spell Disks) must belong to one specific
faction. Thus in a 100 point Army, at least 50 points must be from
one faction; the remaining 50 points may be from any other faction
of the same, or neutral, alignment.
Note that Army Points used for Spell Disk are subtracted from the
total before the above breakdown occurs. So in a 150 point Army, if
a player takes 30 points in Spell Disks, that player must recruit at
least 60 points from one faction, and may recruit up to 60 points of
other factions.
Example: Jim is assembling a 100 point Dwarven Army. He has
taken 25 points for Spell Disks. Thus he has 75 points left for
Creature Disks. 38 points must be Dwarven, and 37 points can come
from other good or neutral factions.

This is not intierly acuurate. A Neutral army can
take from same and one or the other, Good or Evil, but
not both.

So, your neutrals have to be able to pick from either,
but once one is picked it will have to exclude the
other from that point on.

Please hold off on creating data files for Disk Wars. I was just told a
couple days ago that Disk Wars files have been created. I asked the creator
to send them to Kilroy, and he said he would. They will hopefully appear on
Kilroy's site any day now.

However, to answer your question, each faction would best be mapped to a
race within AB. The alignment would be treated as a stat for display, plus
I'd assign all Good and Evil units an appropriate type. I'd then use a
"trat" attribute to ensure that Good and Evil units are mutually exclusive
in a roster. I believe that this is how the soon-to-appear files have been
written.

Thanks, Rob

Let us know when this happens! I play and would love
to have a file for it.

Then ignore my previous post about not working on them! Yours may work
better than the other files I saw. If that's the case, yours will become
the "standard" set and get posted on the various download sites. :-)

As for attachments, please do NOT ever include attachments on your posts to
the forum! This is considered VERY BAD etiquette, and some lists will
automatically boot you off without any warning. You are welcome to upload
your files to the Vault that is part of this eGroups forum - it's free.
Then simply post a message to let us all know that your files are available
in the Vault. That way, it works for everybody!

Thanks, Rob

Are you using Outlook? Your last 3 posts have included an attachment. After
looking at it, it appears that its the separate attachment that Outlook
stupidly sends. Please go into your settings and disable this so-called
"feature" provided by Microsoft's infinite(ly stupid) "wisdom".

Thanks, Rob
