View Full Version : General Question

Hi Group

I just have a general question and do not mean any disrespect but want to get
honest answers to how good army builder is before I buy it.

I am currently using rollcall now for my warhammer armies, O&G, WE and
Empire. I have heard a lot of good things about Army Builder and would like
to know if it would be worth it to buy and use instead of Roll Call

Thanks

Russ

Download the shareware version from www.wolflair.com and see if it helps
you.

If not then you havent wasted any money but I'm sure you'll find it a very
good tool for helping you build armies.

Also, you also need to download sample datafiles that have already been
provided by various generous folks on this list from wolflair or
http://www.weblnk.net/grailknight/armybuilder/ or http://www.egroups.co
m/docvault/ab-files/ depending on the game system you play.

Hugo

Thanks also for the generous information.

To the group in general, I do not know who said it but The tools like Army
Builder or Roll Call sure make developing army lists fun and easy. I make
several lists, one for each general group I might play (i.e. Empire, VC and
such). That way it is easy and quick to deploy my troops when we are ready
to play.

How easy is it to modify Army builder, lets say I want to add the WE
beastmaster and the bears to the army list ( they are oop). OR I do have
some wardancers with two handed weapons.

Thanks for your time and effort

Download the Construction Kit from the Additional Downloads page of the
web-site. Then spend a little time to BROWSE the manual (it's pretty big)
and then check out the Tutorial that is provided. For custom units, all you
need is ABCreator, which is a lot like a database program in its operation.
As long as you don't want to do complex stuff, the Tutorial ought to cover
all the basics you need. For the two examples you cite above, it ought to
work nicely. You can also use the existing data files as excellent examples
of how to create the data files.

Hope this helps,
Rob
