I get a validation error when trying to givw the following magic items:
Spell Familiar : Unit 'Familiar Spells' does not satisfy Magic Item
requirement for category 'Spells' (=1)
Ring of Volans: Unit 'RoV Spells does not satisfy Magic Item
requirement for category 'Spells' (=1)
this did not happen before I updated to the new WFB files. Any answers
on this problem.

Try giving the model a spell?

<x-flowed>The WFB files have all sorts of requirements that spells be selected for
mages, items that confer them, etc. For gamers who don't wish to assign
spells, the validation errors can be an unfortunate nuisance. Hopefully,
these requirements can be relegated to a scenario in a future revision of
the data files, but for now you must either select spells or ignore the
inappropriate validation errors. You may want to contact John Connell, the
maintainer of the WFB data files, about this issue.

Hope this helps,
Rob

This is easily resolved using ABCreate. Open ABCreate select the
spells.wfb file and select unit. Select mnvolans to alter the ring of
volans. Under external attributes you will see clmt:spel=1 change this
to clmt:spel<=1. Save the change to the unit and then save the file. The
error report will no longer be flagged up by those who don't choose
spells but will still flag up an error if you try to assign more than
one spell in this case. The same can be done for the spell familiar and
any others that you use. I think John is on this list so hopefully he
will see this potential solution :) Hope this helps.

Hi all,

Been gone for a few days and work has kept me real busy. Thanks for the
quick fix to the above problem. It is done and will be available in the
next release in a week or so. If you can't wait till then just follow
the advice in the previous post.

Cheers,

John Connell
