If I copy the Herolab files (program et al.) onto a pendrive then can I use it in any laptop or computer that has internet access?

Each license number is tied to a single computer. So you could move HL around and run it in *demo* mode with the technique you describe. But you would be unable to save or print on the other computers.
If you want to run HL on a second computer, you can obtain a *free* secondary license. Just go to the License menu and select the option to "Obtain Secondary License" (or some such).
If you want to run HL on 3-4 computers, you can purchase additional secondary licenses for $10 each, to a maximum of 4 total licenses.
You'll find more details on all of this on our website. In the Hero Lab section, go to the page that outlines all the details about Licensing.
