View Full Version : Is HLO currently not online?

I am literally moments away from going into my first Pathfinder 2nd Edition game, and when I try to log into the HLO account, nothing happens.

The screen reloads, the credentials are removed, and no failed login attempt is presented. I log into the Sales System, and it works fine, I go back to HLO and its not working. I give the wrong password and I get the tooltip popup saying the login failed.

Is there a way to test if the access to HLO is currently offline, have a few systems down? Or is anyone able to give me details?

-- Clearing browser cache twice and rebooting let me login.
-- Then I get kicked!?

Same issue, having issues logging in.

Connection was disconnected before invocation result was received.

Down for me also, although I imagine the maintenance page means something is happening behind the scenes?

Oh, and right in the middle of the biggest gaming weekend of the year...

This is probably WHY, lol. I'm certain this wasn't planned.

This is exactly what us skeptics have been warning about since this was originally announced. This is a critical fail as there’s no post from LWD and we’re only 2.5 hours to go into the Gencon Starfinder Special. Man, I’m really glad I also printed out my character with the free spreadsheet that’s been available for a year, works great, and won’t go offline during one of the biggest tests of the year. I’m not sure that there’s any acceptable excuse, reason, or other blathering that can restore player’s confidence that this “experiment” can be successful.

Huh, all of a sudden, with no explanation, it’s back up. I will say I used it Friday afternoon and it was nice, not having to shuffle paper (I’m a digiphile). But, unexplained, unplanned outages during any weekend, and most especially during huge cons, is not going to endear players to this online model.

Well this is certainly not an "experiment" and unplanned downtime is part of it. Save a pdf copy of your character ahead of time and shrug it off. I highly doubt HLO had experienced that much traffic all at once. It will get ironed out.

But that's not the point. If the application were not tied to a server, there would NOT be a problem. Shrugging it off? Seriously? I pay for service and expect it to be there when I need it. It's not like they didn't know that this would be a big weekend. They appear to be paying more attention to the Playtest rather than supporting the already paid customers who want to use it for actual playing with a game that's already been around for a year. Not being able to support that is not shrug offable. Shrugging it off means just wiping out what I paid and going by hand. If I wanted that, I wouldn't have paid in the first place. But if we're still going to be in beta mode, then they shouldn't be charging yet. (hey, they aren't charging for playtest, but we've got a less than 50% version of Starfinder that some of us paid for). Actually, if you read my post, you'd have seen that I had printed off a copy.

They AREN'T charging subscription yet. There's also been plenty of warning that some parts of Starfinder aren't finished/done yet.

But I DID pay. Had to buy base system. And if the server is not available, it's worthless. I'm not talking about the unfinished parts. I'm talking about availability during one of the two major cons of the year.
