Bret Great Weapon/Virtue clash

A rules validation error appears for the following (valid) scenario:

Paladin with Questing Vow (allows great weapon to be taken)
Take a great weapon
Select Virture of knightly Temper
validation error appears

A knight the Virture of knightly temper cannot take a magical weapon, appears validation rules look on a mundane great weapon as being magical.
