It is common for players to trade coins for gems to make it easier to carry larger sums of "money" around.
One way to handle this is to just continue to record everything as coins and just assume that they are carrying gems, without tracking the individual gems.
But if we want to track the specific gems (since some are more difficult to change back into coin, they can be stolen, some are components in spells, etc.), how do you do this?
My guess is that they should go into gear. So I should go into the editor and create the various gems and record their GP value so they can be "sold" for coins.
Is that the typical way to handle this?
