Well Im Roy (Rodrigo Ramirez)

I was confused about the forum I need help.

I am creating a new game mode, ie, need use the HL Authoring Kit

I have troubles trying to make from scratch the saving throws (ST; as per 3.5 D&D).

I create a entirely new tab that replaces the basics (named tab_atributos)
and works fine; but have a lot of troubles with the ST.

Finally I return to my origin point (the game is loaded and functional) and try to start over.

Please correct me if I'm wrong:

Step 1: Create the thing.
Step 2: Create the component (only if no other has the needed fields or attributes; I'm thinking in use the component defense).
Step 3: If don't use a component then need to proper editthing.
Step 4: If needed create the appropriated tags.

Done

Here's the page from the wiki detailing the difference between a Component, and a Component Set (aka compset):

In each of the .str files, you'll find the components at the top of the file, and the component sets at the botttom.

Editthings are based on component sets, rather than on components.

Thanks Mathias for the clarification I was assuming that a component make a compset.
